1st Day of Kindergarten

Monday was a big day at our house. Our FIRST child had her FIRST day of kindergarten. I was a little worried about her first day because the night before she didn't sleep at all due to excitement. She came into our room 3 times telling me she was too excited to sleep, so I finally just went and slept with her in her bed. We dropped her off at 8am and picked her up at 3pm and she was still happy, so I guess the first day was a success. Her only complaint was that it took me too long to pick her up in the car pool lane and so she was HOT and sweaty. But, I made it up to her with an ice cream treat from Sonic since it is around the block. Of course everyone else decided to go there as well (Happy Hour).

I love that these two have this huge couch to watch t.v. from and choose to sit wedged against each other side by side. I am glad I got this picture when I did. The last two weeks have been a different story than what this picture shows. Maci is getting a taste of what a little brother is all about. It doesn't matter what Maci is trying to do, all Bryce wants to do is wrestle or be a "scary T-Rex" that terrorizes her. I just keep telling her to get used to it because it is just the beginning!

A Champion Among Us

This post is a couple of months late. But I had to steal the pictures off of a friends blog because I didn't take any. As you can tell Joey was on a city basketball team and they ended up winning the championship. This is probably the 5th season Joey has played with these guys and they finally pulled it together to win it all. Yeah Joey!
I thought I would add this picture as well. It happened during the season when a player on another team elbowed Joey in the head. It is blurry because it was taken with the camera on Joey's phone. Yuck!!

Random Summer Fun

Fourth of July - I sent the kids outside to play first thing in the morning before it got too hot. I gave them paintbrushes and cups of water to "paint" on the sidewalk. Later in the morning Maci and I made patriotic sugar cookies to eat while we watched fireworks that night. Unfortunately these are the only pictures I took that day.
Petting Zoo - This was a petting zoo we went to in Irving (don't remember the name of it). We decided to check it out because it is FREE. When we got there we quickly learned why it was free. The kids had fun, but there are only like 3 animals to actually pet and a few more to look at in cages. It was fun to do once, but we won't be going back.
Just Because
Watching a Movie from the toy bucket. Not sure what these guys were thinking. But I went to check on them in the playroom one afternoon and this is how I found them watching a movie. Weirdos!!
Ikea - Lunch and shopping with Kaity, Charlie, and Grace.
Fingerpainting - Desperate for something to do, I found a recipe online for homemade fingerpaint, so we decided to try it out. It was a huge success too! We used the back of a roll of wrapping paper to fingerpaint on and the kids used a whole roll of it!
