So, after we spent a couple of days in L.A. with Joey's parents and taking the kiddos to Disneyland (previous post) we took off to Hawaii.
First of all....... a big thanks to Grandma Robin and Grandpa Joe for watching our twosome so we could go lay on the beach and do nothing. Now, back to Hawaii! It was both Joey's and my first time to there. We LOVED it more than words can say. We stayed at a resort called the Mauna Lani. We spent most of the time relaxing in cabanas on the beach ordering diet cokes and these yummy pulled pork sandwiches. We also snorkeled a few times, once on a booze cruise (also called a catamaran) about an hour from our resort and the other times just at the resort, hiked for like 3 hours along the coast one day, and then Joey golfed basically EVERYDAY we were there when I got just ONE spa day. Okay, so I could have had more, but laying CHILDLESS on the beach was good enough for me! The best thing about this trip was that it was FREE! Joey made the President's Gold Circle which is what got us the trip. On the second to last night we were there there was a great luau. The first fun thing about the luau was learning that the lead singer for the Hawaiian band was from the movie
30 First Dates with Drew Barrymore. He was the "Spam Guy," (although I don't remember why). Then during the entertainment when the hula dancers and warrior dancers (is that what they're called) performed they came out into the audience a couple of times looking for people to come up on stage with them. Well, as luck would have it, Joey and I got pulled up there both times. I am proud to say that my hula dancing received rave reviews, even from the CEO of the company. Joey, on the other hand, is not as skilled in that area.
