Smoothie anyone?

Monday, November 19, 2007

I have become the "smoothie queen" lately. These guys love their berry smoothie. On any given night around 8pm you will find us making one at our house. It's a great way to get some "brain-boosting" fruit and some protein into my kiddos.

It's a rare moment when.........

Bryce will hold still and snuggle with his mommy. In the first photo notice he is starting to arch his back and push away from me so I will put him down and he can tear around the house. Love you Brycer!!

Maci: "Mom, how does the mailman find our planet?"

and then last night at dinner when blessing the food. We call this "short but sweet."

"Dear HF, thank you that daddy could fix the toilet.....in the name of.....Amen!"

For all of you who have tagged me in the past month (there are a handful of you) here it goes. I don’t know why it is so hard to think of things about yourself, so I started with very simple things. Here it goes…….

  1. Almost every morning for breakfast I eat the same thing. I scramble 1 whole egg plus 2 egg whites and add salsa on top.
  2. My favorite color is Red and my favorite flower is a tulip. So, naturally, my wedding bouquet consisted of red tulips.
  3. There are a few chores around the house that I hate to do and early in our marriage they became “Joey’s jobs”. Those jobs are cleaning the shower and taking out the garbage. I also hate unloading the dishwasher and Joey helps out with that a lot as well. However, this has to be done daily, sometimes a couple of times a day, which means that I do it most of the time.
  4. It is really hard for me to eat a salad that I make myself. I don’t know why. I want to be good and eat one every day like you do Angie. I think it has something to do with the lettuce. If someone else was to make it, or I were to order one at a restaurant I could eat it no problem. But if I make a small salad to go with dinner. Most of the time I can stomach only a few bites because it just doesn’t taste good.
  5. I love, love, love Christmas. I love the food, smells, decorations, music, shopping, lights, hot chocolate, Christmas jammies for my kids, etc. Like so many of you, I decorate right after Thanksgiving and keep up the décor as long as possible. I listen to the same country Christmas cd in the car over and over because it is my favorite. I love it so much I will put up with Joey’s complaints over hearing it for the 100th time.
  6. I used to be a morning person. And at night I couldn’t stay up past 11pm. It used to be guaranteed that you could find me most mornings by 6am at the gym. Ever since I had Bryce (10 ½ months ago) though, it has been a different story. I have the hardest time getting up in the morning. Unfortunately my children have inherited the morning gene from me when I seem to have lost it. I really liked being a morning person because I seemed to accomplish a lot more in the day this way. Hopefully one day I will get it back again.
  7. I love to bake. I don’t do it as much as I used to for the sake of my figure, but I still love to do it. Now, if I ever make cookies for someone or for something I will not give them unless they are perfect cookies. I have been known to throw out whole pans of cookies if they come out of the oven the tiniest bit overcooked. This is the same for any other desserts I make. I do not want my name tarnished when it comes to baking and desserts. They just have to be perfect.

I have no idea who to tag now since I have read so many "tags" on others blogs. I guess I will choose probably my Oldest Friends (known them all since elementary school), but they are the Newest to blogging.....Kodi, Carlee, and Kelli!

The Halloween pics are here......

Friday, November 02, 2007

We had a great week of Halloween. It started last Friday with our Trunk-or-Treat. Unfortunately those pictures didn't end up on the slide show. It really doesn't matter though because they look the same as the rest. Then the kiddos wore their costumes to Kaity and Andy's 1st Annual Harvest Party. Maci got to wear her costume to dance again on Tuesday. Then after wearing it to preschool Wednesday morning it was practically worn out before the official trick-or-treat on Halloween night. Charlie and Grace came out to trick -or-treat with Maci and Bryce. Everyone had fun. Maci got down to business right away and practically left us in her dust as she zipped from house to house. Bryce and Grace enjoyed the scenery in their deluxe rides as Maci and Charlie got lots of loot. Oh, and in case you couldn't tell we had a superhero theme...without meaning to....with Super Girl and Spiderman!!
