A Strong Mind
Wednesday, September 19, 2007
Tonight when I was putting Maci to bed she asked me if I remembered something she had said to me earlier today. I told her that I didn't and, as serious as can be, she said......"Mom, you just need a strong mind and then you'll remember. And, your hair is really dark, if it was like mine, then you would remember!"
It doesn't get any cuter than that now does it!!
1st Day of Preschool
Sunday, September 09, 2007
Last Wednesday was Maci's first day of preschool. Even with mom as her teacher and her own playroom for the classroom she just LOVES preschool. I am so lucky to be her teacher because I get to see her interact with the other children and I also get to see her learn. I have so many parents tell me that they wish they could be a fly on the wall and see their son/daughter during the day because they too love coming to preschool. Last year we had two Sophie's in the class. This year we have Maci and Macy! Also, since I do get to be a "fly on the wall" I have a few pictures of Maci during class.
OUR LITTLE CHEF
A week or two ago I took Maci with our neighbor boys to a new place that just opened up here in Frisco. It is called Young Chef's Academy. This is the cutest place and Maci loved it because she got to do everything ALL BY HERSELF. There were three long tables set up as different stations for the kids. At the first station they started out by cutting veggies with a little circular cutting thing and some scissors. She even tasted some of the veggies that she cut up. Then at the next station. she got to scoop two scoops of cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and something else (I don't remember what) into a baggie and mush it all together to make a chocolate filling. At the third and final station they made a crepe and squeezed their chocolate filling inside of the crepe, rolled it, and got to eat it. This was so much fun for Maci because she got to do everything ALL BY HERSELF.

A pipebomb was thrown at my parents house......
Friday, September 07, 2007
Wednesday night about 8:30 someone launched a homemade pipebomb from the park behind my parents house and it hit their house! It hit the roof and then exploded in the air in front of my brothers bedroom. The window blew out, but luckily the blinds kept the glass from flying everywhere (my brother was sitting on his bed). The explosion was so loud that my parents thought that an airplane had hit the house. It shook the entire house and apparently all the neighbors houses as well. All neighbors came running out of their houses thinking something had hit their houses. The fire department came to make sure there wasn't a fire. The bomb squad came and then the FBI. The police said that they don't think my parents house was the target, but they do think the bomb was meant to hit something(not a specific target). They were there until about midnight. As bad it sounds nobody was hurt and the only damage was the window and some dents in the gutters. Shrapnel was found 150 yards away. The next day they were interviewed by a few news channels and made the 1o o'clock news.
Oh yeah.......

Bryce crawls!! Kaity scolded Bryce the other day about not crawling and he took it personal. We shot this video a couple of hours later. NO JOKE!!! The same day....A COUPLE of hours later!! Thanks Kaity!! By the way, we'll need you again when its time to potty train him!!
Maci's 1st trip to the dentist.......Success!!!
Maci's had her first dentist appointment last Tuesday and it couldn't have gone any better. It started out with us walking into the dental office and the first thing you see is High School Musical playing on the television (Maci loves High School Musical). Then as I was filling out paperwork Maci noticed the room with the play structure. Yes, the dentist has an indoor play structure!!! So, she spent the rest of the time playing in there until they called us back. Then when it was Maci's turn to go back the first thing she got to do was pick a movie to watch from her chair. She chose a Barbie dancing princess one. Then she chose a Dora toothbrush that she happily clutched in her hand until the dental assistant came back to clean her teeth. Before the the dental assistant cleaned her teeth she showed her all of the equipment she was going to use and let Maci try them all out herself. She was so giddy and excited to do this. After all of this Maci was a pro when they actually cleaned her teeth. They took her to do x-rays next. I didn't go with her to do this and wondered if I should have. There was no need to worry though because she literally came skipping back a few minutes later. So, the x-rays went well too. (I am still wondering how they do xrays on children because it gags me having to do xrays with those big plastic things they stick in your mouth and tell you to bite down on.) Last, but not least, Dr. Holt came and talked to Maci, looked at her teeth, and gave us the good news that her teeth look great! The one thing that everyone commented on was how "small, cute, and tiny" Maci's teeth were!!!
Playing with Baby Grace
Maci, Bryce, and Charlie are explaining to Baby Grace what is required of her to be able to keep up with the rest of them. She is 8 days old in this picture and not sure what to think of all the new faces always staring at her. She sure is a cutie though. For all of you family reading this and wondering what/who she looks like. My answer to you is none of her immediate family. I actually think she looks like Kaity's mom right now. I think it is the eyes, but she doesn't look anything like Andy, Kaity, or Charlie. Just my opinion.
Maci, Bryce, and Charlie are taking a break from watching the BYU football game (notice Maci and Bryce's shirts). You wouldn't believe the pounding Bryce takes by playing with these two, but he definitely wouldn't have it any other way.
