Get Off The Fence

Sunday, October 24, 2004

Finally, someone's opinion who really matters had the courage to stand up and declare who they are going to vote for. For a while I was worried that no credible, well informed, intelligent people were going to point me in the right direction.

Alas, famed lyricist, humanitarian, peace lover, and rapper Eminem, has declared "Bush is not my homie." It blew me off my fence. Anyone who Eminem would not kick it with while sipping Crystal and Alize is not worth my vote.

On top of that, my neighbor has a Kerry Edwards sticker on their car and it's a really nice car. Rappers and my neighbor agree, Kerry Edwards 2004.

Why Does Japan Get All the Good Stuff First?

Thursday, October 07, 2004

When I was a kid video games basically consisted of a few squares of color bouncing off of each other. Then came the Nintendo revolution. Nintendo changed everything. It was also my first introduction to Japanese technology.

The rumor in Junior high was that the new stuff in the US (that was made in Japan) was already old news in Japan. Today, not much has changed.

Apparently, Japan has been installing gadgets that help bathroom-bashful women in public restrooms, and they have been doing it for over 15 years. I have never seen anything like them in the old fashioned United States of America.

It's an ingenious device that saves the environment and increases productivity in the workplace. At the wave of a hand, these much heralded bathroom devices replicate the sound of a flushing toilet.

Gone are those tense minutes spent waiting for that last person to leave the restroom so you can get things started. Waiting for the toilet to refill before you can flush and secretly make noise again has been rendered obsolete.

Yes sir, these little gadgets have enabled public restroom connoisseur to go quicker and flush less. Now if only they could do something about the odor.
